Nairobi City Tours and Excursions

Whether on a short business stay in the city or on transit, you have an array of activities that you can take part in, this could be from and hour’s visit to the Giraffe centre, Nairobi Safari Walk, to a full day safari to Lake Nakuru National Park.

These can also be taken pre or post safari. Here are our recommended choices

Tour One:

Nairobi city tour + Shopping

  • Depart on a leisurely drive within the city centre, see the hustle and bustle of city life, learn the history of the city, its landmarks etc. you will then make a stop at one of the markets or shops offering various souvenirs, artifacts and other merchandize. Later return to your hotel or proceed to the airport.

Tour Two:

Nairobi National Park and Animal Orphanage + Karen Blixen

  • Start the day with an early morning game drive at the Nairobi National Park; this is the only wildlife Park in the world within a large a city. A ten minutes drive from your hotel brings you to the park entrance.
  • 10h00 leave the park and proceed to the Animal Orphanage right next to the park entrance to encounter many more animals, besides showcasing some exotic wildlife, this is also a rehabilitation centre for wildlife before release to the wild
  • Continue to the Karen Blixen Museum to learn more about this enigmatic lady and history of the time, proceed for lunch at the nearby Karen Blixen Restaurant and thereafter return back to the hotel or proceed to the airport

Tour Three:

Nairobi National Park, Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage

  • Start the day with an early morning game drive at the Nairobi National Park; this is the only wildlife Park in the world within a large a city. A ten minutes drive from your hotel brings you to the park entrance.
  • 10h00 leave the park and proceed to the Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage right next door, here you will encounter and interact with baby elephants at close range. This is also a rehabilitation centre for elephants rescued all over Kenya. Once they reach the age of self reliance or are healed for those found sick, they are then released back into the wild.

Tour Four:

Nairobi Safari Walk, Giraffe Centre + National Museum

  • The Nairobi Safari walk is situated at the entrance to the Nairobi National Park and offers an opportunity for a leisurely stroll in beautiful settings as you view wildlife in enclosed pens but with a natural feel
  • From the Safari walk proceed to the Giraffe centre for a close encounter with the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and an opportunity to feed them
  • Later before noon continue to the Nairobi National Museum
  • Return back to the hotel of proceed to the airport

Tour Five:

Lake Nakuru Day Tour

  • Early morning breakfast at your hotel, depart with picnic lunch boxes to the lake Nakuru National Park through the floor of the great rift valley past the sister lakes of Naivasha and Elementaita arriving mid morning at the park.
  • Proceed on game drives then have your packed lunch at the view point, continue on the afternoon game drives and later in the afternoon return back to Nairobi and dropped off at your hotel
