Day 1:

Arrive Nairobi

• This day arrive Nairobi and transfer to the Oakwood Hotel. Lunch and dinner not included
• Overnight at the hotel 

Day 2:

Nairobi to Samburu

• Early morning breakfast then depart to Samburu National reserve passing the rich high lands of Kenya on the shoulders of Mount Kenya which is the second highest mountain in Africa at an altitude of 5199m above sea level. We arrive in time for lunch, afternoon spent doing game drive. (Kms 350 6-7hrs)
• Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3:

Samburu Game Reserve

• One of the most visited national reserve and recently famous for lioness adapting a gazelle phenomenon has an altitude from 800 to 1230m.To the north, a forested range of mountains known as The Matthew Ranges can be seen. Apart from the game you can also mingle with one of the nomadic tribes; that is the Samburu tribe who are known for their beautiful culture. These reserves offer unique vista of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife, Buffalo Springs records over 365 species of bird. Game viewing and visibility is excellent: Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Oryx, Somali Ostrich to mention but a few. Some of the animals mentioned are only found in the northern frontier district in Eastern Africa.

Day 4:

Samburu Game Reserve to Aberdares National Park

• Breakfast at the Camp depart to the Aberdares National park arriving early morning and setting up camp. Lunch then proceed on the afternoon game viewing drives in the park.
• Dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

Day 5:

Aberdares National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

• Breakfast at the lodge; depart down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving midday at the park. After lunch depart for the afternoon game viewing drives in the Lake Nakuru National Park
• Dinner and overnight at the Campsite

Day 6:

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

• Breakfast at the campsite, after breakfast departs on a short drive to the Lake Naivasha arriving mid-morning. Rest of the day you may opt to participate in the various activities around the lake which includes Nature walks, bird walks, boat rides etc. these are payable direct to the providers
• Dinner and overnight at the Fish Eagle inn Campsite

Day 7:

Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

• Breakfast at the campsite; depart to the Maasai Mara game reserve arriving midday at the Talek Campsite. After lunch depart on the afternoon game viewing drives in the park.
• Dinner and overnight at the Talek Campsite

Day 8:

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

• Breakfast at the Campsite. Full day’s game drives in the reserve; this is a beautiful park teeming with elephants, lions, wildebeest, and zebras among others. During this time, the great wildebeest migration will be taking place within the park –un incredible sight indeed
• Dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

Day 9

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

• Morning game drives returning to the lodge for breakfast, after breakfast depart to Nairobi arriving late afternoon and transfer to the Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta international airport for your onward travel plans

• Flying Doctors Service for emergency evacuation ($25 valid for 2 months within 500km Radius)
• All personal expenses; e.g. laundry, telephones, beverages, drinking water, snacks, tips, etc.
• All personal travel insurance
• All International and local air flights
• Airport taxes, Visas
• Optional excursions that you may wish to do along the way (i.e. not mentioned herein
• Other medication needed i.e. malaria tablets. See your doctor at least 6 weeks prior to travel for other advise (Typhoid, Hepatitis, Tetanus may be recommended by the doctor

What you need to bring:

• Sleeping bag [available for hire in our office for US$ 30 per bag per safari plus a refundable deposit of US$ 40 after the safari].
• Money for personal spending and tipping approximately Kshs1,000 a day
• Only a small case or rucksack, as storage space is limited [maximum 20kgs].
• A pair of long trousers and jersey for the cool mornings and evenings in addition to plenty of light clothes for hot days (do not forget a hat), swim suit, a pillow, comfortable walking shoes and slippers
• Snacks and beverages of your choice
• Torch, sunglasses, suntan lotion, insect repellent/spray but NOT mosquito coils
• Camera, films, binoculars, maps, guide-books
• Toilet paper, towel, soap and toothbrush/paste
• All personal travel insurance
• It is good idea to bring any drinks you might want as they are not always available en route.

Terms and conditions:

• Ketas Safaris requires a 25% non-refundable deposit of the total tour cost upon confirmation of the safari and the balance 60 days prior to the arrival for clients to safeguard the reservation.
• Reservations will be cancelled if the final payment is not received by the due date with full loss of deposit.

Cancellations:

• All cancellation must made in writing to Ketas Safaris and all cancellation will be charged a cancellation penalty depending on the number of days before tour departure:
• Between 45 days and 30 days      No refund of the deposit
• Less than 30 days                        No refund of the land cost
• There is no refund of any unused portion of your safari once commenced. Cancellation penalties on Airfare are additional and are not included in the above cancellation charges.

  
Important Information:

• Tour cost are based on all known costs and rates of exchange as at the 01st March 2011, any significant changes beyond the control of Ketas Safaris will be passed on to passengers.
• Ketas Safaris also retain the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. Ketas Safaris also retains the right to refuse any person from participating or continuing any tour for any reason or if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard and/or inconvenience other passengers.
