  • This 7 Nights Kenya Safari Tour is our most popular, covering A combination of various topographic regions and showcasing the very best of Kenya including the Arid Northern Kenya in Samburu, the Central Kenyan Highlands, the Rift Valley and the south western Kenya where you have the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. It also combines varied unique wildlife species giving you the opportunity to see the Northern Kenya endemic wildlife like the Gerenuk or Giraffe necked gazelle, the Grevy Zebra with its unique stripe pattern and round ears, the Reticulated giraffe with its darker markings, the blue skinned Somali Ostrich and the Beisa Oryx among others. These are called the ‘Big Five” of northern Kenya. You will not see these species in the southern part of the country. This safari tour also is your best chance to see the real Big Five wildlife defined below. Notice the change in landscape and weather patterns as you drive along –it’s truly unforgettable.

The term ‘Big Five” is a word used by the early European explorers and hunters to refer to the most dangerous wildlife animals to encounter in the African jungle, since they travelled on foot through these African jungles, encountering one of this was indeed an epic battle of survival for both the hunter and the hunted. They also provided the most valuable and sought after trophies (Tusks, skin, Head and Horn). As their numbers decreased over time due to hunting and other environmental factors, the term change to refer to the most endangered and sometimes hard to see (like the Leopard and Rhino) animals. These animals are the Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino –Highlights of a Kenya Safari Trip

Option 2 is highly advisable during the Great Wildebeest Migration where you get a much better chance of seeing the famous river crossing.

This is Kenya’s prime park and never disappoints in terms of wildlife experience. Sporting a pride of Lion is highly likely. While the Cheetah might be well camouflaged in the tall grass, our well trained Safari driver guides are well tuned to their tricks and will soon spot one for you.

Elephants and thousands of other non-migratory animals abound throughout the year. Over 550 hundred species of birds have been recorded here both local and migrants.

The most popular months are from mid-July to late October during the migration of the wildebeest. This is the annual mass movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest accompanied by Zebra and Impalas from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania in search of pasture. Hundreds of hooves pounding the open plains accompanied by a cacophony of grunts create a spectacle to behold. Spend the nights in a relaxing room in either of the lodges below listening to the orchestra of rasping Cicadas, croaking Tree Frogs and the intermittent call of the nightjars and owls not to mention the mandatory lion roar. No need to mention the monkeys –they are quite good at announcing their presence!

Dinner and overnight at the Luxury Little/Main Governors Camp or Mara Serena Safari Lodge or Mara Keekorok Lodge or Mara Sopa Lodge or Salt Springs Mara Camp. (Full Board Basis)
